Get Wild with Pizza This January

Market Pizza is going wild again and the adventure begins Friday, January 21st, 2022.

The event benefits Hunters Helping the Hungry – HHH, a 501c3 organization that donates venison from local Hunters to state wide food pantries. The funds raised go towards the organization’s expense of meat processing through approved butchers by the State of NJ Health Dept. This event is supported by the NJ Division of Fish and Wildlife.

Food has always brought people together, whether its a family dining table or new friends at a pizza bar, so this fund raiser is a natural fit. HHH provides a means to bring protein not usually available through food pantries to the table.

This is the sixth year HHH and Market Pizza have teamed up, with fundraising efforts exceeding well over twenty thousand meals just by adventurous foodies coming out to try something different.

For each venison pizza purchased, a portion of the proceeds will go to HHH. For those less adventurous who want to participate the regular menu is available, and a donation maybe paid directly to the organization.

“Wild Game Month” created by the Pizza Witch – Megan Jones-Holt, has become a tradition for many loyal followers who will drive over an hour just to experience the different game specials. It also caught the eye of the Editor of PMQ, an international pizza magazine, featuring a cover story in the March 2021 issue.

The only difference this year is the Pizza Witch has passed on the magical recipe book to her son, Justin Holt of Clinton, and his business partner Brendon Phillips of Whitehouse, who took ownership of the business January first.

“I am so happy to be able to carry on what my mom has created”, said Holt.” I was a part of Market Pizza when she took it over from Jamie Hollander in May 2016. We both trained under him. Then my video production business took off and I had to shift focus. Now I am back and able to carry on the family legacy. I have no doubt the Pizza Witch will be watching and jumping in from time to time”.

Over the past month Justin and Brendon have been on hand to meet and greet the Market Pizza customers, and have vowed not to change a thing. Brendon went so far as to say, “We came into this knowing how beloved these pizzas are to the impressive fan base the Pizza Witch has garnered. Maintaining the spirit of these bewitching flavor profiles has been our main drive and focus from the start.” Justin Holt exclaimed, “We do one thing and it’s magical. Artisan Hearth-baked gourmet pizza. Handmade dough, farm fresh ingredients with unique experiences.”

WORKSHOP: Winter Remedies – Herbal Support During the Winter Months with Jenn Allen

 SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 3RD | 11:00-12:30PM

At The Alchemist’s Kitchen in Stockton Market

This workshop is a space to deepen our understanding of the ways Mother Nature offers us some of the most potent and effective remedies for winter cold and flu season right in our own kitchen pantries.

A century ago our ancestors knew how to use household remedies in a preventive way to promote health and wellbeing with plants found in the wilds or gardens of their own backyards. Today, much of this knowledge has been lost due to advances in the modern allopathic medicine system. Due to current challenges for some Americans to have sufficient health insurance there is a renewed interest in ways that plants can be used to assist in the prevention of physical discomforts due to colds and viruses. Mother Nature offers us some of the most potent and effective remedies for winter cold and flu season right in our own kitchen pantries. By learning to view food as medicine we can help to increase support for the immune system through the inclusion of certain herbs and spices in our daily cooking as well as create delicious and unique remedies for specific ailments like sore throats, coughs, flu symptoms and fevers.

This is a demonstration class but recipes, an informative handout, and samples will be given for you to experience and try in the class.

Plants Heal

 SATURDAY, OCTOBER 20TH | 11:00-12:30PM

At The Alchemist’s Kitchen in Stockton Market

This workshop is designed to ignite the cultivation of self providing holistic tools and practices for understanding intuition, intention, and integration. Some of our most powerful medicinal allies are plants. Whether we use them for mental or physical support, plants offer us many lessons in healing.

Our health is often prescribed by someone outside of our individual body & experiences. When we listen to ourselves and determine our needs from what we hear within us, we begin to feel at home in our body. Tender self-care is some of the most potent healing we are capable of as humans. It is imperative to demonstrate this compassion for self in the face of fear, bigotry, and hatred, for we are of no use to the collective unless we ourselves are nourished.

This workshop is a space to deepen our understanding of plants as allies. It is a space to tap into the magic afoot when we prioritize ourselves, our communities, and our planet.
