Digestive Herbs 101 w/ Kate Moxham
July 6 @ 11:00 am - 12:30 pm$30
At The Alchemist’s Kitchen in Stockton Market
In this class we will talk about common digestive issues, and how to choose the best herbs for you based on their actions and energetics.
The digestive system plays an integral role in our overall health and well-being, and all the systems in our body depend on its health and proper functioning. The lining of the gastrointestinal tract is very complex, and all together its surface area is about 2400 square feet. It’s made up of an intricate system of microflora whose effects on our health we learn more about every day. With all these components, it is easy to see why digestive issues are so common, and why these issues can affect every cell in our body.
The good news is that digestion can be self-correcting, and even the gentlest herbs can have a huge impact on our gut health, without having any side effects. In this class we will talk about common digestive issues, and how to choose the best herbs for you based on their actions and energetics. We will sample some herbal teas and bitters, and individuals will go home with a handout including some recipes.

My mission is to reconnect people with plants for optimum health and balance through herbal consultations, custom blends, and classes/workshops because plants and people are made for each other.
I am the founder of Cultivating Roots LLC, a small-scale herb farm and apothecary based out of Bucks County, PA and Titusville, NJ. Most recently, I formed an Herbalists Without Borders chapter in Mercer County, NJ because I believe health and wellness is our birthright, and everyone deserves equal access.
I have a Bachelor of Sciences degree in biology, and have spent the last several years working and studying with different herbalists. I finished the two-year clinical herbalist training program at David Winston’s Center for Herbal Studies, where I am currently taking a Therapeutics program. In addition, I am working with Andrew Appello of Healthy Living Acupuncture in Princeton, NJ to become a registered herbalist of the American Herbalist Guild. I will always be a student, and will forever be in awe of the plants.
