Japanese Wild Flower Arranging Workshop with Meadows + More

Wild greenery: learn how to use ferns, branches, and flowers to make natural arrangements for your home
Japan has a long history of appreciation of the art of flower Working with plants and their natural lines, both asymmetrical and ephemeral (wabi sabi) is a creative way to expressing your mood and the season.
Japanese professional flower arranger, Akiko Ishida (who teaches in Kyoto and Osaka, Japan) will lead this hands on workshop to help you discover your own way with plants.
When: May 11 at 10:15am to 1:30pm (arrive early and grab breakfast at the Stockton Market)
Where: Meet at the Meadows+More mushroom booth at the Stockton Market, 19 Bridge St, Stockton, NJ 08559
What you get: Branches, plant material from Hunterdon County, supplies. Plants will be identified by wild forager, Tama Matsuoka Wong.
Please bring a large, favorite dish as a base for making your own miniature garden, a snapshot of nature to bring indoors. Akiko will lead you through how to match colors and plant forms as well as the techniques for extending the life of cut plants
