Signs of Spring: Intro to Foraging workshop

Join Jade Green of Meadows and More, a wild edibles and stewardship company based in Hunterdon County.

Learn whats in season now and how to identify plants in the field.

Are you interested in learning to identify local wild plants? What is in season and delicious (not merely edible)? How foraging is part of our heritage connecting our health, food, and environment? We have a lot of requests for workshops and are de lighted to invite you to join Jade Greene, naturalist and environmental scientist, of Meadows+More for an introduction to foraging that includes a guided weeds walk on the canal, minutes from the Stockton Market.

When: March 16 at 10:30am (arrive early and grab breakfast at the Stockton Market)

Where: Meet at the Meadows+More mushroom booth at the Stockton Market, 19 Bridge St, Stockton, NJ 08559

Who: Beginners and plant experts are welcome. Dress appropriately for the weather, rain or shine (spring is late this year)

What you get:

  • introduction to our five step process to plant identification
  • a healthy foraged refreshment (chaga mushroom tea, nettle tea, maple water), as well as what’s in season now.
  • We will provide gathered specimens of foraged plants.
  • Signed copy of Foraged Flavor, James Beard nominated cookbook authored by the founder of Meadows+More, Tama Matsuoka Wong.
