Herbs for Immune Support

At The Alchemist’s Kitchen in Stockton Market

Our immune systems are one of the most important and intricate systems in our body.

Unfortunately, we often take them for granted when things are running smoothly. This time of year is a wonderful time to talk about immune system health, and how to prepare our bodies for the upcoming cold and flu season.

In this class we will discuss some of my favorite herbs to support and nourish the immune system for the upcoming winter months. We will sample several herbs, and individuals will get to take home a handout including recipes.

Kathryn Moxham

My mission is to reconnect people with plants for optimum health and balance through herbal consultations, custom blends, and classes/workshops because plants and people are made for each other.

I am the founder of Cultivating Roots LLC, a small-scale herb farm and apothecary based out of Bucks County, PA and Titusville, NJ. Most recently, I formed an Herbalists Without Borders chapter in Mercer County, NJ because I believe health and wellness is our birthright, and everyone deserves equal access.

I have a Bachelor of Sciences degree in biology, and have spent the last several years working and studying with different herbalists. I finished the two-year clinical herbalist training program at David Winston’s Center for Herbal Studies, where I am currently taking a Therapeutics program. In addition, I am working with Andrew Appello of Healthy Living Acupuncture in Princeton, NJ to become a registered herbalist of the American Herbalist Guild. I will always be a student, and will forever be in awe of the plants.

Autumn Plant Walk

At The Alchemist’s Kitchen in Stockton Market

Join us for a walk along the canal path and learn more about our local and native plants.

Gathering plants from the wild provides many benefits. It connects us to the natural world and the changing of the seasons, and connects us to our ancestral heritage. It is empowering, plus it also helps ensure that our medicines are fresh, sustainable and high quality. In addition, wildcrafting can be eco-friendly and cost effective.

In this class we will discuss guidelines on how to carefully and conscientiously collect medicines. We will then go out and discover the incredible healing power of a few of the wild plants that are growing locally. Individuals will get to take home handouts that include some of my favorite recipes!

Rain or shine! Bring your umbrella or raincoat in the event of rain.

In this class we will discuss the foundations of herbal medicine and will go over some basic herbal preparations. Individuals will take home a handout with some simple ideas and recipes to start bringing herbal healing into their daily life.
